Rosa and Alex Dembitzer – Founders of Northern Charitable Foundation
Rosa and Alex Dembitzer share a common goal and vision that led them to establish the Northern Charitable Foundation.
This vision is to empower people through information and counseling to make the best decisions to better their lives and their families. Empower them by giving them access to information, counseling, on-line support and brochures.
Alex and Rosa lived through challenging illnesses themselves and had to struggle with tough decisions and lack of enough information. Rosa is a carrier of BRCA, a genetic hereditary mutation. Unaware of this, she suffered through Breast and Ovarian Cancer. Alex’s grandmother lived many years with Alzheimer’s Disease, a very difficult and painful experience that left a large mark in the family.
The foundation was born out of these personal life experiences and therefore, it has a very special and deep meaning for Alex, Rosa and Alex’s mother, Jacqueline Fried.
The Dembitzer’s are very involved in all of the programs, reaching goals and establishing new challenges constantly.
Alex is known in the real estate industry for his significant work as a developer and investor. Alex is expanding into Renewable Energy, part of the new vision of the Foundation to fight for a better environmental future. The entrepreneur is a born and bred New Yorker who studied at New York University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
Rosa, his wife and the co-founder of Northern Charitable Foundation, was raised in Costa Rica and graduated from from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics. She also holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Planning and is LEED Certified as a Green Consultant. She currently devoted her time to running the Foundation.
